These special tools feature carbide (widia) inserts necessary for advancing the mechanical cutter as they are designed to dig and scrape rock and/or earth from the excavation front.

InnoTek proposes three types of tools:

Ripper: a digging tool to be used in grounds lacking large stone blocks;

Cutter bit: this tool is housed on the front blades of the TBM head; its task is to remove the material removed by the rippers.

Scraper: this is a loading tool housed on the profile of the cutting head. It is used both on "earth" and "rock" excavation heads and it guarantees correct operation of the cutter tools located in peripheral areas of the cutting head.
